After getting wiped out by reading chapters 1-8, I officially gave up on Moneymaker for today and picked up the first draft of Three Coins, which I finished three or four weeks ago.
It’s not bad. But it needs a POV. Right now it reads as a news article, not a story.
All in all, a productive day. I should finish reading the first draft of Moneymaker within the next two days, and then plunge into the edits for the second draft. Simultaneously, I’ll be doing the second draft of Three Coins as well. I think this is how it’s supposed to work. You’re supposed to have two or three balls in the air at all times, so you can change tasks when your brain gets stuck. Also, from a practical perspective, more writing=more $$$, potentially. I’m going to want to submit as much as possible, to increase my chances and potential sources of revenue. Sounds horribly capitalistic, but hey, without money this doesn’t really work does it?
Anyway, I sure feel like a writer.
