Jeff – you need to listen to the Don Ellis Band. I don’t think it will help your writing but it might help your running. You must listen to it at a high volume. I just listened to Concerto for Trumpet from his Live at Monterey album. That is now a standard for me – along with the thousand or more viewings of THE SEARCHERS and other known classics from your Daddy’s film vault.
